Support Preservation Delaware

Members are key to PDI’s success in preserving Delaware’s built and buried history. The income from your membership helps us raise awareness, provide educational programs, advocate for more government funding and incentives, and so much more.

Every gift – at any level - is important to our mission, not only to cover our annual budget, but is also important to show elected officials and potential partners how widespread the support is for our shared goals.  So, individual gifts to PDI leverage additional funding from other grantors and sponsors, as they see that the community believes in what PDI does before they invest in our work and programs.

A myriad of ways are available for you to support Preservation Delaware with a financial gift as outlined below.  We hope that you’ll choose to become a member or donate today and help support our preservation efforts in Delaware.

Legal Defense of Historic Resources Fund

Each year we grow increasingly concerned and alarmed by the relentless loss of historic buildings and cultural heritage sites in the First State.

The PDI Board established the Legal Defense Fund to build reserves that will ensure that we have the financial resources to take legal action when necessary as sometimes that becomes the only option available.  These funds will allow us to mobilize quickly, conduct research, and engage legal experts as necessary to defend against unlawful actions.

We thank you for following the support of others in building up this fund—and for standing with us as we fight for our invaluable heritage.

Build Up PDI’s Endowment Fund

Preservation Delaware General Endowment Fund at the Delaware Community Foundation

You can support Preservation Delaware with a donation or planned gift to our endowment fund held at the Delaware Community Foundation.  Proceeds from this investment account support programs and operations of the organization, while the corpus is managed by the DCF.

Grow the Endowment for the Marian Coffin Gardens at Gibraltar Fund

Your gift to the Marian Coffin Gardens at Gibraltar Endowment Fund at the Delaware Community Foundation can ensure the ongoing care and public accessibility of this Wilmington historic gem.

Donations or planned gifts to the Garden Endowment Fund held at the DCF are welcome and vitally important to secure the future of this nationally renowned garden.

First State Preservation Grant Fund Endowment

Annual proceeds from the First State Preservation Grant Fund at the Delaware Community Foundation enable Preservation Delaware to provide financial assistance in the form of outright grants to historic property owners for capital projects and restoration work. Often this seed funding leverages significantly more investment in securing a building or site’s future. Each year, demand for such funds always outstrips available funding and therefore PDI strives to grow the endowment fund to be able to support more projects with greater amounts.
