Preservation Delaware: Protecting the Irreplaceable in the First State

Programs

Education & Outreach
It is through educational and outreach efforts that Preservation Delaware instills an appreciation for the past and an understanding for the importance of preserving it. Preservation Delaware strives to develop educational and outreach programs for Delaware citizens, including professional audiences, community groups, and youth, to raise consciousness and to develop a broad base of support for historic preservation.

Publications provide information about preservation project, events, and issues. The PDI Post is issued quarterly and allows us to provide the latest about HP in Delaware. The Primer is an occasional educational bulletin that focuses on individual preservation subjects. PDI hosts a bi-annual preservation conference, as well as lectures, workshops, and seminars devoted to a variety of topics. PDI also provide professional training and education, including continuing education courses for real estate agents interested in learning how to market historic homes. PDI's Education and Outreach Committee is now working to develop preservation education programs, lesson plans, and curricula for children in public and private schools.
