On March 7 and 8, representatives from Preservation Delaware, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs participated in Historic Preservation Lobby Day in Washington, DC. This was an opportunity to outreach to our congressional delegation on federal preservation issues. You can learn more about Lobby Day by going to: http://www.preservationaction.org/lobbying11/Program.pdf
When we visited Capitol Hill , we requested that particular attention be given to the following:
1. Preservation funding for fiscal 2012
2. Economic development/jobs creation through incentives such as the Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits
3. Representation on the House Historic Preservation Caucus (Delaware currently has no representation on the Caucus).
If you are interested in participating in local, state and federal lobbying efforts on a going forward basis, please contact me through Preservation Delaware’s statewide office in New Castle at 302-322-7100.
