Don’t miss this chance to chance to help save a National Register-listed structure and, at the same time, create community space by preserving a significant story and keep an existing building in use and its materials out of landfills. Join Adventures in Preservation, and partners Preservation Delaware and Friends of Bellanca Airfield in this week long adventure to restore the windows on the large sliding hangar doors at Bellanca.
This volunteer vacation is chock full of opportunities to work, play and learn! In addition to your volunteer service at Bellanca Hangar, you will be able to take part in Preservation Delaware’s Preservation Weekend in Historic New Castle, a two-session workshop on the restoration of wood windows offered by Duffy Hoffman, several public events taking place in Old New Castle during the week, and a field trip to Penn Farm, the last surviving farm of the historic 1,068-acre New Castle Common.
